Tim Whiskeychan

A multidisciplinary artist from Waskaganish, a small Cree community south of James Bay, he is considered one of the masters of the Cree living arts. His work adorns the institutions and homes of Eeyou Istchee, and is also found all over the world.

His work reflects Cree traditions and culture, while being rooted in contemporary art practices and techniques. He sees the legacy and encouragement of his own family artistic lineage as his greatest influence.

With their spirit and culture deeply rooted in the way he tells his story, Tim Whiskeychan embodies the authentic spirit of Cree art.
