Kirt Brant

Born in Toronto in 1969, he is a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Mohawk Tyendinaga Territory and currently lives in Ottawa.

He has been painting since he was a child and finds an infinite source of inspiration there. His style is inspired by Indigenous traditions, hunting and fishing, his own life and adventures in the forest, whose life he likes to capture in his works. Brant uses several media and materials, such as tissue paper and acrylic paint. Graphic designer and painter, he represents traditional elements based on modern techniques, ensuring his unique and contemporary style. He describes his work as meditations through animated works with strong movements and inspiring design.
