Nathan Tony Arragutainaq
Born June 24, 1995 in Sanikiluaq, Nathan Tony Arragutainaq is an emerging Inuit sculptor whose work is anchored in his native land. Inspired by accomplished Inuk sculptor Simiuni Nauya, Nathan began sculpting five years ago and has since developed a practice that reflects both his personal memory and cultural continuity. Its depiction of the inukshuk symbolizes not only the Arctic landscape, but also the cultural identity that has long defined Inuit communities. Nathan hopes to foster greater understanding between Inuit and non-Inuit as well as meaningful connections between cultures, allowing people to better appreciate their histories and ways of life.
